Physical Education
Explore how the Physical Education curriculum builds fitness, teamwork, and resilience through sports, camps, and active programmes.
Physical Education
Through the Physical Education curriculum, we develop physically competent and confident individuals who embrace a lifetime of active and healthy living. Our comprehensive curriculum spanning Physical Activities, Outdoor Education, and Physical Health and Safety builds 21st Century Competencies such as communication and collaboration, anchored in our school values of Grit, Care, Respect, Integrity, Responsibility, and Gratitude.
Our emphasis on fostering a growth mindset through challenge and collaboration sets us apart. Students develop competencies across diverse sports while gaining practical life skills in navigation, outdoor cooking, risk assessment, and CPR-AED training.
GYSS Sports Fiesta
Sports Fiesta brings the GYSS community together in a vibrant celebration of active living, school spirit, and shared achievement. Through activities such as running, skating, and basketball, students challenge themselves, apply their movement skills, and encourage one another. Beyond competition, the experience strengthens resilience, teamwork, and belonging as students demonstrate Grit and Care — pursuing personal improvement, celebrating others' efforts, and contributing to an inclusive school community.

Student Voice
“I really enjoyed Sports Fiesta. It was fun and engaging, and gave me a wonderful opportunity to exercise, bond with my classmates and develop valuable teamwork skills. I am thankful to all the teachers who planned and organised the event for us, and I hope there will be more activities like this in the future.”— Lin Chit Huen 1-3
Sec 1 and 3 Outdoor Adventure Camps
Our Outdoor Adventure Learning programme begins with the Secondary 1 Camp, where students develop confidence, independence, and teamwork through cycling, challenge-course elements, tent pitching, outdoor cooking, and group tasks. This foundation prepares every student for the Secondary 3 MOE-OBS Challenge, where more demanding expeditions deepen their resilience, leadership, and adaptive thinking. Anchored in our school values of Grit, Care, Respect, Integrity, Responsibility, and Gratitude, students learn to communicate with clarity, make responsible decisions, and care for others in authentic outdoor settings.
