We believe every GYSS student can be a leader. We seek to develop all students as confident and resilient leaders with strong moral compasses.
The Guangyang Secondary School (GYSS) Student Leadership Development (SLD) framework is built upon the school values and The Student Leadership Challenge practices by James Kouzes and Barry Posner.
We equip GYSS students with foundational Personal Leadership skills through Secondary 1 and 2 level-wide Student Leadership Workshops. Through the workshops, GYSS students will better align their values, strengths and weaknesses to personal and collective success. Secondary 3 students will further enhance their leadership skills towards Advocacy, identifying meaningful causes. At Secondary 4, the students will seek opportunities to contribute to the school and beyond.
